Além do meu trabalho como psiquiatra e psiquiatra forense, também tenho uma carreira sólida como neurocientista. Neste sentido, além de atuar como professor adjunto do curso de medicina da UFPR, também lidero o grupo de pesquisa “Laboratório de Psiquiatria Digital”. Em paralelo a isso, atuo como pesquisador no “Laboratório de Psiquiatria Molecular” da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul.
Como neurocientista, trabalho principalmente em projetos de pesquisa sobre avaliação de risco de suicídio, psiquiatria forense e medicina legal, transtornos de humor, transtornos mentais relacionados ao uso de tecnologias, dependências comportamentais e outros transtornos aditivos, hikikomori, psiquiatria de precisão, big data e machine learning em psiquiatria.
